I am a Sophomore at the University of California, Merced. I am majoring in Computer Science and Engineering, and have a passion for math, science, engineering and technology, as well as history and writing.
I teach physics, chemistry, essay writing, all levels of mathematics (from basic algebra to multi-variable calculus) as well as ACT, TOFL, SAT, AP, and IB Test Preps.
I maintained a 4.5 GPA throughout high school having completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program which included many rigorous Advanced Placement and IB classes in all subject areas.
My goal is to teach exactly what is needed to succeed. Being a student myself, I understand the implications behind every lesson and therefore aim to provide my students with a skill set that will help them succeed in the future. I teach proactively and aim to help you master tests and common mistakes.
That being said, I would love to work with you and help you succeed!
I love teaching, because I feel it helps me return my education to the community and does it justice.
I have tutored on and off for nearly 4 years, and have enjoyed every moment of it, for pay or not. I have taught 24 students, all who saw improvements in their grades by 20% in some cases, and others who passed their upcoming tests with an A.
I generally tutor for 20-22 dollars an hour, however, for test prep such as ACT and SAT, I may charge 25$ an hour.
I am currently in my first year at UC Merced but am enrolled as a Sophomore in the Computer Science and Engineering Major in the School of Engineering. I hope to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), with a minor in Business within the next three years. After that, my plans are to continue post-graduate education for a Master's Degree in CSE as well as an MBA.
I have completed high school at the International Baccalaureate (IB) program level (which includes 150 hours of mandatory volunteering and 13 courses at the Advanced Placement or IB level), and graduated within the top 10% of my class at La Quinta High School with the IB Diploma and three honors.
I was awarded honor roll three years in a row in high school, and am in line to receive distinction as part of the Dean's List (3.5+ GPA) for my second semester at UC Merced. I have participated in National Competitions as part of the World Quest Current Events team, and have won medals at State-wide solo and ensemble conferences for piano-playing.
I won second-place two years in a row at the Southern Wisconsin Science Fair, and have competed in Math Olympiad Conferences throughout my three years in middle school.
I have worked for the City of La Quinta City Works Program as an intern, studying Civil Engineering and Statistical Analysis over the summer between Junior and Senior years.
My passion to teach is fueled by my interest in education.
Perfect! Professional and knowledgeable about the subject :) Thanks Adi!
