About Lamia
My name is Lamia. I am originally from the Bay Area and I went to UC San Diego for my undergraduate degree in Structural Engineering. I remember when I was in high school, I got the chance to tutor kids of various ages. It was very satisfying when the students would understand the material and perform well in their exams. I developed a connection with the students and it made learning more fun and engaging. I know that sometimes it can be hard to understand some of the material taught in classes, which is why I like to teach in different ways to really make sure the student understands the content. These ways include different problem solving techniques, sketching out the scenario, and going through multiple examples. At the end of the day, I want to make sure the students are learning in a way that makes sense to them and for them to gain more knowledge of the material as much as possible.

I really like to take my time with students and make sure they understand the material. I try to teach different methods and make it engaging as well for them to comprehend the content better. I am patient and love working with students. A typical lesson plan would consist of going through examples together, assigning problems for the student to try on their own, and helping them out with their homework. The lessons would be in mathematics for Kindergarten kids all the way to 9th grade.
