About Lukas
I have tutored friends and acquaintances in mathematics, physics, and music intermittently, starting in high school. Most often I've taught friends who struggled conceptually in classes, and my assistance consistently improves grades in classes. On multiple occasions my help as contributed to a raise of one to two letter grades over a semester.
I have found that tutoring sessions can make a big difference in material comprehension. Classroom lessons don't adapt to the pace of every student, which can sometimes be extremely frustrating. Revisiting class notes helps. When a student spends their time scrambling to write down the process of solving an equation from the board, though, they may not have a clear recollection of why each step was taken. For this, having a tutor is invaluable.

My name is Lukas, and I'm a recent engineering graduate. I've always enjoyed tutoring students in a variety of subjects including geometry through calculus and physics. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a student improve and become confident in their scholastic work!
For students who are currently enrolled in the course I'm tutoring them in, I require they bring completed homework, quizzes, and exams. We work through any incorrect problems to identify where mistakes were made, and I then create example problems to solidify confusing concepts. Working these examples involves considerable student involvement, as I prompt them for explanations and allow them to come to conclusions on their own rather than simply stating them aloud. I aim for students to score well on exams, but I place greater importance on mastery of material. Conveniently, this frequently means better scores.
