About Tochukwu

As a graduate of Electronic/Electrical engineering, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off. My experience as a teacher in both the British and Nigerian curricula for more than 2 years, has seen me help a handful of students realize their potential and get higher grades in exams.

I specialize in tutoring Math and Sciences for Primary, JSS students, SSS and undergraduates and I have had successful experience preparing students for Common Entrance, JSCE, BECE, IGCSE & Checkpoints.

One of my goals for each learning session is to keep the student challenged, but not overwhelmed. I tailor my lessons to the students learning style, assign homework after every lesson, and provide periodic assessment and feedback both to the students and parent if applicable.

I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you achieve success in your studies!

Levels taught: Primary, JSS, SSS, Undergraduate and Adult

Teaching Curriculum: Nigerian, British, American

I have taught kids in schools which adopt the British and Nigerian Curricula, and also prepared students for exams like SATs and TOEFL which are based on the American Curriculum.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is that I tailor my tuition to the needs of the student. I will tutor in my own home or that of the student. I will vary my style depending on the ability and needs of the student. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my students through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the student so desires. I will also offer pre-exam revision sessions for all exams including modular resits and conduct end of topic tests and mock exams should the student desire.

As I aim to tailor my tuition to the individual I expect students to maintain regular contact in regards to their subject progressions and their individual needs. I expect students to arrive at tuition sessions with a clear idea of what it is they hope to get from the sessions.

I will provide each student with a progress log and detailed feedback on how they are performing and areas where they need to improve, I may also set work for my students to complete outside of sessions and for this set work I will offer a marking service.

I am happy to meet with the parents or guardians of my students prior to the commencement of tuition in order to ascertain what they wish their child to gain from tuition. I am also happy to meet with parents and guardians regularly during the tuition period to discuss their child's progress and if required I am happy to provide parents with written reports on their child's progress.
