About Andrew
I'm an engineering graduate offering lessons in physics, math, and engineering technology. I have years of experience tutoring from high-school to undergraduate level, as well as real-world experience that helps to contextualize what we will study. After finishing my degree I worked for 4 years at the University of Glasgow developing technologies like off-grid renewable energy microgrids, rock-coring drills used in Antarctica, and robotic arms for lunar rovers. While I'm proud of this track record, I wasn't always the best student myself! I know what it's like to struggle with subjects and I know that it's not just hard work but the right approach to learning that will unlock your ability to rise to the challenge.

I am offering 30 minute and 60 minute lessons for high-school students. I take a pupil centered approach so we will always be responding to your goals and which techniques work for you. I am passionate about learning and helping you build an approach to study that is fun, rewarding, and will last long after we finish having lessons together. The key to this working is clear, open, and frequent communication - whether we're introducing new concepts or revising, we'll be talking to one another to make sure we're on the same page. This conversational approach ensures we understand concepts from the ground up, and helps to build your confidence. In our first session, we will discuss your study goals. This might be an exam/exams that you are working towards and a grade you want to achieve. We'll discuss your experiences with this subject and what your current schedule looks like. Based on this, we'll form a study plan and set realistic expectations.
