About Shakare
Hi, I'm Shakes (25M) and I'm an Engineering Graduate with a big passion for anything Maths.
During my own schooling career, I did a lot of additional Maths whenever I could, attended all sorts of Maths challenges and made the most out of what I had. Now with a stable career for myself, I want to give back to the community and help unlock the potential I see in every one of my students.
My primary approach is built on patience, encouragement and structured support throughout. I believe in working with my student together along the entire way, as opposed to the traditional 'tell, show, do", focusing on building real understanding with interactive elements. Whether you are aiming to get those top marks, prepare for exams or simply build long-term confidence in your studies early or later, I can sure help you along the way.
Outside of teaching, I stay up to date with the latest UK curriculum requirements and educational tools to ensure every lesson is effective, structured and engaging. Whilst I believe in a student-led approach, I understand that there are particular elements which are the responsibility of the tutor - These will be maintained from my side.

My personal teaching approach is very student-centred and highly adaptable. I believe in working with my student together along the entire way, as opposed to the traditional 'tell, show, do", focusing on building conceptual understanding with interactive elements.
I believe that lessons should typically run for 60 minutes with a recap and de-brief, for researched concentration purposes, but happy to offer flexible options depending on the student's needs.
I bring my semi-recent engineering degree qualification alongside a wealth of mathematical knowledge (Straight A/A* in Maths and Further Maths for GCSEs and A Levels) to my sessions; Helping several students consistently raise their grades and master difficult topics.
My lessons are highly flexible and can be designed for GCSE students of all ability levels regardless of whether they are looking to bridge learning gaps or push for those top marks.
