About James
I’m an Engineering graduate with a BEng (Hons) in Broadcast & Communications Engineering, and I’ve built my career working in telecoms, networking, RF systems, and data analysis. I also have Cisco CCNA knowledge, which has given me a strong practical understanding of how real-world engineering and networks operate.
I’ve always enjoyed breaking down complex technical problems into simpler, more manageable ideas. I focus on helping others feel more confident in areas that can often feel overwhelming at first, especially when numbers get involved.
My lessons will be structured but relaxed. I typically work in 30 minute sessions, starting with a quick recap of previous topics before moving into guided examples and then independent practice. I place a strong emphasis on technique, so students learn not just the content, but how to apply it under pressure.
I mainly tutor GCSE Maths and Physics students (ages 11–16), including those preparing for exams or looking to improve their grades and confidence. My aim is always to create a chilled out and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making steady progress.

My approach is calm, structured, and easy going, with a focus on building understanding rather than memorising methods.
• Teaching methodology: I break topics down into simple steps, use worked examples, then guide students through questions until they can do them independently. I regularly revisit weaker areas to build long-term confidence.
• Lesson structure & length: Typical lessons are 30 minutes (can be altered depending on preference), starting with a quick recap, followed by guided practice, then independent questions and exam-style work.
• Qualifications & experience: I am a BEng (Hons) Broadcast & Communications Engineering graduate with 4 industry experience in telecoms, networking, RF systems, data analysis, and Cisco CCNA knowledge.
• Who lessons are for: I teach GCSE Maths and Physics students (typically ages 11–16), and can support early A-level foundation topics where needed.
• Goal: To help students improve exam performance, strengthen understanding, and become more confident with problem-solving.
