About David
I am an Electrical Engineer (graduated from the University of Washington) with a concentration on computer engineering, with a long-winded experience in STEM classes. Without a doubt, my passion is problem solving and teaching, two things that go hand-in-hand. Experience wise, I have tutored at elementary, middle, and high schools and the private institution "Mathnasium" for a collective total of four years, and look forward to continuing my passion.

I believe that every student is capable of problem solving on his/her own, but the trick is to convince the student of this truth. My teaching style, thus, isn't so much about telling my students how to do something, but to provoke understanding of why something is true, or "why this process makes sense." If the subject-related principle makes sense to the student, then the student should be able to exercise the tools at hand and remember how to use these tools on their own. The goal of my teaching is to make sure that, when I'm done working with them, that they'll no longer need me (or another tutor) to problem solve--they'll be able to do it on their own (empower the student, rather than enabled by the tutor).
I like to teach mathematics most of all. Basic physic (mechanics) and introductory chemistry are subjects also at my disposal. I am best at one-on-one sessions, as I think that tutoring at this level is supposed to be tailored to each student. Moreover, I enjoy getting to know my student so that I appear more approachable rather than a robot with only an objective to teach.
