About Nikolai
I am an alumnus of the Academy for Science and Design, which I finished with a 3.8 GPA, and have always finished my math classes with "A's". I have transfer credit from the Nashua Community College for Calculus 1 and 2 (the equivalent of AP Calculus AB and BC), and I have 4 years of experience tutoring both in person and remotely through zoom.

I approach tutoring with the goal to help a student gain understanding, rather than get quick answers to their homework and be done. School lessons rely heavily on previously learned material; if some of this material is unclear or wasn't taught properly, it becomes difficult and frustrating to grasp new concepts! My goal in tutoring is to re-establish this foundation, by giving review material, practice problems, and using real proofs as opposed to using textbook formulas without understanding the principles behind them. This approach helps students perform better on homework and assessments, as well as develops confidence and promotes independence, promoting academic results and personal mental health.
