About David
I'm a physics undergraduate in Lisbon and ex IB student. I have privately taught Maths Physics and Chemistry to over 30 students in International or British schools in Portugal for the past 4 years and have had a 100% success rate in terms of getting them all to achieve their University entrance conditions. I have ADHD myself and have had to develop many techniques for focusing over the years, if you are someone like me or with any other specific needs don't worry! My main strengths are exam taking techniques and breaking down big tasks like studying for an exam into small achievable ones. The typical lesson will be 1-1.5h and it is usually broken down into a bit of theoretical teaching followed by some exercises that we do together. My main focus is on building reliable knowledge and problem solving techniques rather than memorisation. My students don't write much during the lessons as I use my shared screen as a whiteboard and ask them to talk me through as we solve the exercise together. This allows me to correct mistakes as well as teach structure and how to organise their answers for exams.
