About Bilel

I am a second year PhD student in mathematics. I was a engineering student at the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne specializing in Computer Science and Data Science following an M2 in mathematics in parallel.
I currently have 3 years of experience with convincing results provided that the student is motivated (+5 points on the mathematics average of some of my students)

I offer high school level courses in Mathematics / Physics-Chemistry as well as courses in Mathematics / Data Science / Programming in Bachelor / CPGE / School of engineering.
I aim to make students perceive ubiquity and the power of mathematics and to show that they are more intuitive than we think. The students appreciate my way of bringing the objects back to concrete examples.
Methodology (in mathematics but it is quite similar in the other disciplines):
1) Identify if the student has mastered the prerequisites of the chapter corresponding (this can go through application exercises)
2) Possibly go back to the definitions and fundamental theorems of the course (identification of the important propositions and those which are rather secondary) in immediate connection with the classical uses (particularly in high school the majority of exercises are only made up of these direct applications that must absolutely be mastered). This involves developing automatic calculation and reasoning
3) Developing the pupil's intuition on the concepts introduced. In most cases, this is a geometric visualization. Show the student that in mathematics one should not hesitate to draw or even make the link between mathematical objects and physical phenomena of everyday life (especially that a large part of the concepts have often been introduced by physicists) . I personally think that the students fix too much on a formal vision of mathematics which can prevent them from knowing what they are really doing and especially which demotivates them. The use of computer tools (geogebra, python, ...) is also there to develop this intuition
4) Selection of classic exercises of intermediate level and if the student is motivated we can look for more advanced problems that need to really visualize what is happening
