About Joe
I am an engineering student who has previously been a maths tutor to 2 GCSE pupils while i was studying for my A-levels, i helped these pupils achieve their target grades of level 5. I am a confident individual who is passionate about maths, physics and related areas. I am currently in my second year of my civil engineering degree and have good knowledge and experience of theoretical and practical applications of the subjects.
I achieved 12 GCSE's A-A*, Including A* maths and further maths.
I also studied AS level Further maths and economics.
I achieved A*,A*,A in Chemistry, Maths and Physics at a-level respectively.
Since my A-levels i have studied more advanced maths at university for 2 years which has helped me consolidate my understanding of GCSE and A-Level topics.

My teaching method would involve a short theory section followed by an application of the theory in a real world type problem. This is something that as an engineer is important to me and brings the need for the knowledge to light, maths can sometimes seem like an abstract and dull subject if not applied to the real world, but hopefully, it can be made interesting with good application and background knowledge.
I will aim to tailor my lessons based on students needs so that the focus can be put on the particular types of problems they find difficult. This method enables for efficient learning which will hopefully make the learning experience enjoyable. I am able to teach all abilities of mathematics and physics from GCSE to A-level.
I encourage conversation and questions as i believe this is the best way to learn quickly. No question is a bad question! It is often understanding basic ideas in depth which enables better overall progress. Good understanding of the fundamentals will be a theme of my style as it gives students the ability to deal with more complex topics and questions later on more easily.
