About Korrin
Over the past two years, I’ve tutored everyone from high-energy elementary schoolers to high schoolers studying subjects like Differential Equations and Spanish.
My background includes coordinating a STEM/math program for elementary students, as well as providing advanced targeted instruction for 10th and 11th taking Calculus 1 and Calculus 2. Having recently graduated high school with an Associate Degree, a Spanish certificate, and a 34 ACT score, I want to offer a balance of capability and relatability. Parents can count on my consistency and clear communication, and students can feel confident that subjects will be broken down into digestible parts. I believe every pupil is capable of achieving their educational goals and getting excited to learn. I know how to relate to students, keep things interesting, and make intimidating subjects feel way more manageable. I'm excited to go on this journey together!

I take a hands-on, visual approach to tutoring because I believe students learn best when they can actually see how a concept works. Good tutoring requires learning from someone who had to learn it themselves. I understand that things may not come easily to all, but by breaking down concepts into things a student is already familiar with, we can tackle subjects easier.
As a visual person myself, I focus on maintaining engagement by breaking things down into visual models, diagrams, and real world examples. However, I am highly adaptable to different learning styles and can speed up or slow down based on the progress of a student.
A typical session would be highly interactive. I like to start by learning what the student already understands, validating the progress, then helping the student find their questions. After answering questions or doing a lesson, we then transition to semi-independent practice where I let the student take the lead and help them as they go with the practice problems I give. To wrap up, I have the student explain the concept back to me in their own words to ensure it really clicked.
