About Sipho
I am an Engineering Student in a University located in South Africa. I have recently started an Electrician Apprenticeship to further my knowledge. I tutor remotely and through contact sessions around Mbombela (Mpumalanga Province). I am passionate about mathematics and science, hence the choice of engineering. Most of the students I have worked with find my style very interesting and engaging. I use every lesson as an opportunity to mentor and motivate.
I have been a tutor assistant for static mechanics for a semester in 2019 at the University of Pretoria. I applied my skills and knowledge in helping students with the work. I am very patient when working with learners. I enjoy tutoring because it empowers someone to become brilliant in what they do and it shapes their future.
I learn a lot from my learners. Tutoring for me is a two-way street with lots of knowledge and wisdom being exchanged.

The best way to learn is to understand the basics. Once that is out of the way, a targeted analysis is performed to check the topics within the subject that the student is struggling with. Different people learn in different ways, and it is important to understand how a specific student grasps the work. The method used to tutor then depends on the above mentioned.
It is key to follow the requirements stated in the curriculum of the student. Typically, an assessment is provided to weigh the student's understanding of the subject. The assessment will then be graded, and feedback given to the student and the reaction and comments from the students will be recorded to gauge their engagement in the course. A SWOT analysis will be performed, and long-term goal plan be made at the beginning of the lessons. Short-term goals will also be made at the start of each lesson to give direction of where the lessons are headed, and the learner will experience a sense of accountability. A task will be given at the end of each lesson to evaluate the level of understanding for that chapter.
I follow up on my students. I offer them guidance, mentorship and motivation about their future. If a student aspires to become a pilot, it often motivates them to address them as a pilot during studies. This provides mental supports to their vision and dreams.
