About Maya
I’m a GFESS graduate and currently a university engineering student with over 2 years of tutoring experience helping students improve their grades and understand material in math and science. I’ve successfully helped struggling and failing students pass their courses by breaking down difficult concepts into simple, understandable steps.
I’m patient, supportive, and adapt my teaching to fit the student’s unique learning style because not every student learns the same way. My goal is not only to help students finish homework, but also to help them actually understand the material and feel confident solving problems on their own.
Tutoring sessions are available in your home, at the Fort Erie Library, or virtually.

With exam season coming up, many students are struggling to keep up in overcrowded classrooms where teachers simply don’t have the time to give every student the individual help they need and deserve. Asking questions and working through problems step-by-step is one of the most important parts of learning, but in large classes, students are often left confused, overwhelmed, or too afraid to speak up.
That’s where tutoring can make a huge difference.
As a university student and former GFESS student myself, I understand how frustrating it can be to learn difficult subjects in an environment that isn’t designed for one-on-one support. Sometimes all it takes is having concepts explained differently in a way that actually makes sense to the student. With personalized help, students are able to build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and improve their grades much faster.
Investing in education is always worth it. Understanding the courses and concepts can have a lasting impact far beyond one exam or report card. Whether a student is trying to pass a difficult class, prepare for finals, or raise their grades, getting extra support is always a good decision.
