About Brooklyn
I'm a mechanical engineering student at ASU online. I've always really loved math and physics. I have always made straight A's in mathematics, and I oftentimes corrected teachers and proved various ways of problem solving throughout school. I have placed in math competitions, and even began self-teaching calculus in seventh grade. I have peer tutored many other students, some of which weren't even close to being on track to graduate high school.

I've always been a straight A student in mathematics as well as in the gifted program for mathematics in grade school, and have had much success helping others through peer tutoring. I can tutor through Calc 1 at the college level. I do not do statistics, however.
I've always had a passion for thoroughly understanding why and how we do things. Despite it coming naturally to me, I still studied harder than most people. This helped me fine tune my problem-solving skills, which in turn has greatly improved my ability to tutor. Explaining why or how we do something using analogies tends to help, but if it doesn't, I know several more ways to help.
I've always believed that the main reason people struggle with math is the way the school system teaches it. They discourage finding different ways to solve problems, which I believe isn't the case. Some students do better with other methods. Of course, finding a method that works can then translate to the method the school is looking for. I can break down complex concepts into extremely basic forms and expand. It is completely catered to you and your learning style and interests. Most complex math requires a very strong understanding of the basics in Algebra, so I do tend to go back to that often when tutoring and expand to the topics we are discussing.
