About Charlie
Hi! My name is Charlie, and I am currently a first-year engineering student at Queen's University. I am going to be studying electrical engineering in my future years. I went to Laurel Heights Secondary School and graduated with an average of 94%, and currently have a GPA of 3.58. I love math, physics and robotics. I also enjoy running, going to the gym and watching sports. I would love to help you with your courses, to make sure you can reach your full potential.

Teaching approach:
My approach as a tutor is centered on understanding first, memorization second. I focus on helping students build a strong conceptual foundation of a topic, so they can approach new and unfamiliar problems with confidence. I adapt my teaching style to each student's learning pace and goals. I emphasize active learning, encouraging my students to think out loud, ask questions and attempt problems during lessons rather than wait for the solutions
Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
- Explaining the concept first using visuals, analogies and real-world examples
-Step by step problem-solving frameworks that students can reuse
-Guided practice with increasing difficulty
-Identify and fix common mistakes
-Exam focused strategies
Typical Lesson Plan:
-Check in to review recent material, assignments or upcoming tests
-Review key concepts that may be causing difficulty
-Solving worked examples, explaining the reason for each step
-Student attempts problems, while I provide feedback and guidance
-Summarize key concepts and suggest possible practice
What Sets Me Apart:
- Strong background in math and physics with an emphasis on problem-solving
-Ability to explain difficult concepts in simple and intuitive ways
-Focus on building independence and confidence, not just short-term results
-Experience connecting theory to practical applications, especially in STEM fields
My Lessons Are For:
- Primarily grade 9-12 students, but can also assist elementary school students
- Students preparing for exams, tests, or problem-heavy courses
-Learners who want a deeper understanding of a topic, not just answer keys
