About Kaylyn
Hi! I'm Kaylyn, an engineering student at Colorado School of Mines. I am almost done with my bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering (materials science) and I love sharing STEM with others and helping students and classmates work through tough problems. I have worked for several years as a teaching assistant in materials science courses in addition to informally tutoring many of my peers through rigorous engineering coursework. Additionally, I actively design curriculum for middle and high school level materials science camps and love sharing my passion for materials and engineering through teaching at these events. I believe everyone is capable of excellence and most people understand a lot more than they think they do. I hope to help others unlock their understanding and growth!
Outside of school, I also enjoy many hobbies including rugby, weight lifting, painting, hiking, singing, and coaching! I hope we can connect in some of these areas as well.

I take a very individualized approach to teaching and tutoring. I want to fully hear your thought process and questions so I can understand what you already know and where we need to build together. I won't bring you a pre-built, cookie-cutter lesson plan because I want to partner with you to attack each problem in the way that makes the most sense to you. I love sharing my personal passion for STEM and I hope it will be infectious and beneficial for your learning.
I can work with all ages but have the most experience working with high school - early college students. If you are struggling with classes like AP or college physics, precalculus/calculus, statics, materials science, or anything similar, I would love to help you out!
