About Oscar Ivan
Hello! I am Oscar, an engineering student and passionate about mathematics. Since I was little I have been attracted to mathematics and how it is present in everyday life. I reached the third round of the math Olympics in seventh grade, and I was the best ICFES in my school. I am currently in the sixth semester of my career, in which I have studied mechanical physics, electromagnetics, differential calculus, integral and multivariate. Another of my passions is teaching, which is why I have taught tutorials to students from my university, high school and elementary school. Personally, I feel that there is a taboo on the subject of mathematics. The student tends to fear concepts, and in general it is because they lack the basis to understand them and that they do not see the practicality that this has in real life. My goal, more than trivially explaining these concepts, is to make the student feel comfortable doing mathematical operations and understand their usefulness.

First of all, in my methodology is to evaluate the student to determine at what level he is, if he has strong foundations and which of these foundations can be reinforced. In the event that the student is following a program, could be from the university or college, I will generate my content based on the curriculum that the student is following. After this, I go on to explain the practicality of the concept before getting into it. To be honest, I have always considered that the teaching of conventional mathematics and physics has a flaw, the concepts are explained without first establishing what these concepts work for. In general, the practical part is always at the end of the program, but I have realized that starting with this part allows the student to relate the concept with things that he already knows, with the real world, and also helps the student to lose the fear for numbers because they already have a meaning, they stop being theoretical and become something present on everyday bases. On the other hand, I am an instrumentalist and music producer, and I am totally convinced that mathematics is also an art, which must be constantly reinforced and practiced in order to understand it. As a tutor, I usually leave homework and exercises in each session, however, I keep it simple and practical, to not overwhelm the student and allow the interest to be genuine. If the student is a child, these tasks have to be fun for him, so I gradually increase the difficulty of the exercises, as if it was a game. You cannot start by teaching theoretical quantum physics, you must first teach about how Newton questioned why apples fall from a tree and do not fly off. I hope I can accompany you on this path that can be equaly or more exciting than playing an instrument.
