About Maaz
I’m a first-year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Ottawa with a strong academic background in math and science. I take my tutoring seriously and aim to create a supportive, respectful, and focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I’m reliable, well-organized, and committed to helping each student reach their goals. I prepare for lessons in advance, adapt to each student’s needs, and communicate clearly with both students and parents when needed. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to build confidence and develop strong study habits that last beyond our sessions.
I maintain a friendly and patient approach while keeping lessons productive and structured. Whether a student needs regular support or help preparing for an exam, I strive to provide consistent, high-quality guidance every session.

As a first-year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Ottawa, I bring a strong foundation in math and science along with a clear understanding of how to explain concepts in a simple, relatable way. My approach as a tutor is focused on building confidence, making learning engaging, and helping students truly understand—not just memorize—what they’re studying.
I focus on simplifying concepts and connecting them to real-life examples so students can relate to what they’re learning. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s level—whether they’re in middle school or high school—by adjusting the depth of explanation and pace. I encourage active learning through questions, guided problem-solving, and regular practice. My goal is to help students build strong fundamentals while also developing confidence and independent thinking.
Each lesson begins with a quick review of previous material or any difficulties the student faced. Then I introduce or revisit the main topic with clear explanations and examples. We work through problems together step by step, followed by independent practice where the student applies what they’ve learned. I provide feedback throughout and end with a recap of key points and, if needed, practice recommendations for continued improvement.
As a current engineering student, I understand both the fundamentals and how they apply to more advanced concepts. I’m patient, approachable, and able to explain topics in multiple ways until they make sense. I also relate well to students because I’ve recently gone through the same courses, so I know common challenges and how to overcome them. My focus is not just on improving grades, but on helping students feel confident and capable.
My lessons are designed for students in Grades 6 to 12. I offer support in math (including algebra, geometry, and functions), as well as science (general science and introductory physics). My tutoring is ideal for students who need help keeping up with class, preparing for tests and exams, or strengthening their overall understanding of key concepts.
