My methodology focuses on personalized 1-on-1 sessions where each lesson begins with a brief icebreaker to help students feel welcomed and relaxed, allowing me to connect with them as their peer. We start by addressing any problems, misunderstandings, or questions from previous classes, discussing them together. I then support the student using whiteboards, videos, and additional materials that reinforce understanding. From there, we move on to the new topic, introducing the goals, setting the context, and working through examples before ending with a wrap-up and reflection. This process ensures students truly understand concepts and can connect them to real-life examples that stay with them. I am an engineering student with hands-on experience teaching Grade 9 Mathematics and Grade 5 English in Ottawa, using a friendly, interactive, student-centered approach that breaks down ideas into simple steps in a safe, supportive environment. My structured lessons—review, clear goals, explanation, guided practice, independent work, and reflection—work especially well for Grade 5 English and Grade 9 Math learners. My methods help students build confidence, stay engaged, and come to each lesson excited and ready to learn.
