About Jillian
Hi! I’m Jillian, an engineering student at Carleton University with a passion for helping students feel more confident in school. I’ve always enjoyed working with others and explaining concepts in a way that feels approachable and less intimidating. Alongside my studies, I’ve worked as a university Teaching Assistant, where I supported students through labs, office hours, and one-on-one help sessions.
Outside of academics, I love dancing, canoeing, hiking, and spending time outdoors, and I try to bring that same positive and energetic attitude into my lessons. I’m patient, encouraging, and understanding of the fact that everyone learns differently. My goal is always to create a comfortable environment where students feel supported, motivated, and able to ask questions without judgment. Whether someone is struggling with a subject or simply wants to strengthen their skills, I love helping students reach that moment where things finally “click.”

I teach math, calculus, vectors, and physics for middle school, high school, and first-year university students. My lessons are personalized to each student’s needs and learning style, whether they want help with homework, test preparation, improving grades, or building a stronger understanding of core concepts.
During lessons, I like to break problems down step-by-step and explain concepts in a clear, practical way. I focus on helping students truly understand the material rather than just memorizing formulas, so they can feel more confident solving problems independently. I also try to keep lessons relaxed and supportive, because I know subjects like math and physics can sometimes feel overwhelming. My goal is to help students feel more capable, confident, and comfortable with the material over time.
