About Elle
My name is Elle and I am a first year engineering student at the University of Cambridge. As a STEM student myself, I understand how hard these subjects can be. I know the frustration after spending hours trying to understand a concept only to get stuck when tackling an exam question, with rising grade boundaries adding even more pressure.
I decided to start teaching to help students who are in a similar position to where I was only a few years ago: trying to raise your grades but not knowing exactly what you were doing wrong. I believe everyone is capable of achieving the grades they want, with the right guidance and support. Having someone who can explain difficult concepts clearly, help you recognise where you are going wrong, and share the techniques I have learnt can make a huge difference.

My teaching is centred around helping students gain a thorough understanding of concepts they learn, rather than simply memorising content. I take my time to explain each concept thoroughly, ensuring each student has no gaps in their knowledge, and is ready to tackle unfamiliar exam questions.
I also place a strong emphasis on developing exam technique. I help students identify why they are losing marks despite understanding underlying concepts, learn how to approach different exam questions, and ultimately secure the grades they are capable of.
Lessons will typically last about an hour.
I achieved 4 A*s at A level and 9s at GCSE in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I teach both GCSE and A level students.
