About Laura
Hi, I’m Laura! I’m a UK-trained English teacher and professional scriptwriter with over 10 years of experience in the classroom and the creative industry.
My journey with language started in Canada and led me across the globe—teaching in Turkey, Thailand, and eventually spending a decade in UK secondary schools (Years 7–13). Those years in the classroom taught me that whether you are analysing Shakespeare for a Grade 9 GCSE essay or writing a hook for a YouTube script, the focus is the same: The Architecture of Engagement.
I offer a unique blend of academic rigour and modern creativity:
For Students: I know the UK mark schemes inside out. I won’t just help you "get through" English; I help you understand the structure of language so you can walk into your GCSE or A-Level exams with genuine confidence.
For Creators: As a professional YouTube scriptwriter, I help you move beyond "AI-sounding" slop to craft human, purposeful content that actually connects with an audience. I have worked with 9 clients in the last year, editing, scripting, writing and even delivering scripting workshops to prove that what you say really matters.
My Approach:
I believe writing should be human. I meet my students where they are. Whether you’re struggling to express a complex idea or you're a high-achiever looking to polish your voice. My lessons are supportive, highly personal, and designed to build the one thing every writer needs: confidence.
Now back in Canada, I bring a global perspective and a decade of UK expertise to every online session I teach.

My Teaching Style:
As a UK-qualified teacher (QTS) with a degree in English Literature, I don’t believe in "one size fits all" tutoring. Every lesson is built around purposeful feedback and real-world application. We don’t just "do English", we study how words shape understanding.
With a decade of experience in UK secondary schools (Years 7–13) and a parallel career as a professional scriptwriter, I offer a unique dual perspective. I know exactly what an examiner is looking for, and I know exactly what keeps a viewer watching.
