About Farzana

English Literature, RE & History & Sociology — Secondary, GCSE, AS & A Level.

My lessons are uniquely personalised to the students’ needs, tailored to their learning pace, and my aims are to instil confidence for them as a result. Homework and feedback is essential to a pathway of success, this includes feedback of students’ progress to the parent as well. This is key to a pupil's learning as all pupils' learning paces are different, and this is okay!

I offer one-off and/or continued reviews for Essays, Coursework and other Application reviews i.e. Personal Statements.

About the lesson

Gradually taking the time to suit the pupils’ preferred pace of learning and adjusting to their comfort level is my method. I do this so it allows them to grasp new concepts easily, as well as develop areas to improve with confidence. I cater lessons to areas of improvement, and making it relevant to exam specifications so it’s not a surprise for the student when opening their papers.

I highlight this by making my presentations activity based, including discussions to provoke critical thinking = procedural learning. I adopt this approach because my focal point is to challenge the students, and as a result overcome their difficulties. In my approach, interpretation is widely involved, which is significant because this is a heavy element to bring in analytical thinking skills which is CORE to achieving progressing grades.

My tutoring style? Very unique... I bring my personal touch which allows students reaching stars in their grades. The lesson is about improving their weaknesses and developing their existing strengths. I introduce hacks for memory recall and essay writing through my own techniques I used myself to achieve A & 9, which I can assure will engage the student similarly in reaching targets and even exceeding them, after (most importantly) I establish knowing how the student works best.
