About Matthew
I am a PhD candidate in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Sheffield, currently awaiting my viva. I have been a student at Sheffield since I began my undergraduate degree in 2010. I have tutored students at Sheffield and UCL in linguistics, most often in Critical Discourse Analysis. My teaching is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students studying English Language and Linguistics, or Literary Linguistics. Before our first meeting, I like to learn about the course you are on (methodological frameworks, rubric, etc.) in order to ensure that our sessions are as valuable as possible for your particular needs.
I provide constructive criticism of written work, as well as general discussions on the topic. If necessary, and with enough time, I can also put together additional exercises to help you out with particularly tricky ideas. I will not write essays for you.
