About Connor

I’m from Blackpool, in the UK, but I have lived and worked all over the world. My passion for teaching comes from my love of engaging with new people, learning about different cultures, and seeing my students grow in confidence and skill over time. Teaching is more than just helping someone learn a language—it’s about connecting, understanding different perspectives, and sharing experiences. I enjoy getting to know my students, discovering their interests, and supporting them in their journey to mastering English. Seeing someone improve and gain confidence in their language skills is incredibly rewarding for me. Beyond teaching, I’m also passionate about travel and languages. I have been fortunate enough to live in different countries, and I always look forward to exploring new places. I’m currently working on improving my Polish, and in the future, I hope to learn Arabic and Mandarin. I understand the challenges of learning a new language, and this helps me relate to my students and guide them effectively. About the lesson

Teaching Methodology & Approach My teaching style is immersive—I communicate entirely in English throughout sessions to help students develop confidence and fluency. Lessons are conversation-based, tailored to the student's interests and level, and designed to introduce new vocabulary and practical language skills in a natural and engaging way. We can discuss articles, media, or other materials relevant to the student's goals, ensuring lessons are both enjoyable and beneficial. To support long-term progress, I help students organise a structured file of useful vocabulary, phrases, and key content to refer to outside of lessons, reinforcing what they’ve learnt. Lesson Duration Each session typically lasts one hour. Qualifications & Teaching Experience I have trained to teach English as a Foreign Language and gained hands-on experience working with the YMCA in Colombia and teaching at Colsubsidio Chicala in Bogotá. Over five months, I worked directly with students, improving their language skills through immersive lessons. Following this, I spent an additional four months delivering online English lessons for the Chilean Ministry of Education, working with a range of learners. Beyond English language teaching, I have over two and a half years of experience working with students across multiple subjects, age groups, and backgrounds. I have extensive experience supporting learners with limited English proficiency as well as those with neurodiverse needs, mental health concerns, and physical disabilities, ensuring a patient, adaptable, and supportive learning environment. Who Are These Lessons For? I work with students at A2 level and above. If you’re a Polish speaker, I can also support learners at A1 level, as I speak Polish at an intermediate level.
