About Issie
I am a first year English Literature student at Durham University. I have had more experience with teaching younger students with basic English skills, however I have recently taken A-level exams and did well. This means I understand how the exam system works and can work together with students in order for them to get good exam results. I have A-Levels in Art and History as well, so am happy to assist with other essay based subjects, breaking down the assessment criteria and making it clear how best to go about time pressured

The way in which I teach depends on the level in which I assisting with. For example, with younger students I will lead the session more, preparing tasks and activities that I will bring to the session. With older students I think it's more helpful for them to advise me on what they require help with. I find one of the best ways to revise is to plan an essay and then get it marked. I will happily mark essays. This way we can work together to break it down properly and understand what went well and what didn't.
