About Angie

I have just graduated in English Language and Literature in the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and I have been teaching English English for 6 years, both to children and adults. Currently I'm finishing the MA in Advanced English Studies and its Applications (USC).

About the lesson

I like to teach the theory applied. I usually look for graphic and practical examples of the theory because that way concepts are better assimilated. As I see it, it is easier to work by association and amusement (creative exercises) than remembering raw theory only. Teaching should be done the easiest way for the brain to understand what we are teaching it, and after, that knowledge should be put in practice, but in a way the students want to practice it. We, as teachers, should be capable of creating in them an urge, desire, we should know how to motivate them. I'd like to think that I motivate or deceive the people I've helped somehow... or at least that's what I try.
I like to adapt myself to the necessities of each of the students. On the one hand, there are basic needs, those that the student knows he/she needs; and on the other hand, there are specific needs, which are possible lacks or difficulties that it might be observed. This way, each class is unique and exclusive of each person, because each one of them is special and different.
For me, it is of high importance to get to know the student: his interests and perspectives. By doing so, it is much easier to get to him/her and shape the training to his/her tastes so as to make the session enjoyable and bearable.

I am mostly a private teacher, I do'nt have the TEFL certificate yet, so the preparation for official exams is not my thing. Everything else, as long as I can get there, it will be a pleasure to meet you!!

Es un chico súper agradable y eso hace que las clases sean mucho más entretenidas y que la conversación fluya con mucha más facilidad. Siempre ha aceptado todos los ejercicios que le he propuesto, incluso juegos, aunque yo le avisara de que podían parecerle infantiles. La verdad es que darle clase ha sido una muy grata experiencia ya que se ha implicado mucho con todas las actividades. Great job, Dani. Hope you enjoyed it! Thank you.
