When I share what I know about writing and developing, I first want to know where my students are in the process, and what level of knowledge they have. To do this, I must first get to know them, so some questions and conversation are needed. It helps to know the objective of the project, too, so I make sure that is part of the conversation.
My experiences and education give me the resources and abilities to work with writers of all levels and to figure out how to start, finish, and keep the project going. I worked in Human Resources for over 10 years and know what it takes to connect with the right people to get the interview, find the right job offer, and to use communication to be successful in your career.
As a writing instructor in higher education, I have worked with students of all levels and know to develop skills that are already there and build upon those skills. I have expertise in many writing genres and expertise in teaching them. These genres include business writing, creative writing, academic writing, literature, and more.
Anyone can learn to write well. It is important that we develop and sharpen these skills to obtain the goals we want.
