The Direct Method
The benefit of using this method is to immerse students in English. This is done by providing demonstrations on how to use the language with the the help of visual aids. The rules of grammar are not taught directly. Grammar rules are avoided as much as possible and there is emphasis on correct pronunciation. Teaching is performed entirely in the target language and students are discouraged from using their native language.
