My teaching approach is adaptive based on your current knowledge, desired goals, and learning style. Some learn better by watching, then trying. Some learn better by getting their hands dirty, then reviewing. Some prefer reading while others prefer hands-on or interaction. We will have a review session during our first meeting to determine your learning style.
I have an undergraduate degree in Spanish and another in International Business. lived and worked in Galicia, Spain for 2 years as a teacher's assistant. I had my own full schedule of classes with an average class size of less than 20. I hosted a weekly "Speak and Drink" session for local adults to join me and practice their conversational English over a drink. Since then, I have visited, lived and worked in many different countries including Puerto Rico, Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia and Argentina.
One of my favorite things in language is learning new cultures and meeting new people. I wouldn't have the friends I have today without speaking Spanish. One of my favorite things about teaching English is watching my students flourish. Many of my ex-students keep in touch still, asking for advice or letters of recommendation for University level English programs and jobs. Some have even moved to English speaking countries like the US or England. It makes me so happy to see people I have taught using their English skills to chase their dreams. That is why I do this.
