About Erika
I believe in patience, teaching to individual learning styles, and fostering a safe, low-stress environment. Encouraging the students to believe in themselves and build a strong relationship by learning about students' interests. Also, create a safe space where they feel comfortable asking questions without judgment. To build trust and support,take time to learn about the students interests and hobbies is a way to have a positive relationship. My goal is for children to feel nurtured, valued,heard and in control of their own learning journey. I have been been working with children for 25 years. I have been over Pre-k graduation and Pre-K Disney plays . I also volunteered in the past as a Big Sister of the youth organization of Chattanooga. I have a journal that I enjoy writing in daily and I enjoy reading children's books and have them retail the events in their own way.

I share my knowledge with preschoolers using, pictures, books, music, and story telling flannel boards . I allow the children to use their imagination to make up their own story and discuss the events, plot and setting to a story. . The children also identify and recognize rhyme words,the spelling of their names , write and draw in their journals. Some of the lesson plan themes have included Dental health, Be My Valentine, Black History, Explosion Art, All About Me/ family, Winter Olympics.
