About Abigail
I'm Abi, I'm friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking and my ultimate aim in tutoring is to make science and maths fun and accessible for everyone. I've just graduated with a first in Msci. Physics from Imperial College London and I'm now beginning my PhD at UCL in Experimental Particle Physics. I'd love to share my knowledge of physics and maths with students, hopefully even inspiring them to study the subject at university.
I have a wide range of tutoring experience, listed below:
• Private Tutoring – I have previously tutored A-level and GCSE maths to school students.
• Fire Tech Camp – I worked as a camp tutor at the tech education company, working the summer camps and weekly after school clubs. This involved preparing and organising lessons, managing a class of children (aged 8-12) and maintaining enthusiasm whilst teaching about technology and programming. I really enjoyed my time teaching there and received two awards for best tutor of the week.
• Imperial Global Summer School – I worked as an academic mentor in the physical sciences stream at Imperial’s Global Summer School for international 6th form students. This involved teaching university level physics and coding
• Imperial Planetarium Ambassador – I currently work as part of a team to lead and deliver planetarium shows about space to primary school children.
• UCL Physics Tutor/Demonstrator – I currently assist in problem solving tutorials for undergraduate physics classes.

Abigail led a study group for her undergraduate physics peers at Imperial College. She organised meetings to correct problem sheets together and discuss issues with aspects of the course. Her knowledge of physics and enthusiasm to help others understand created a very successful study group.
I could not speak more highly of the tutoring Abigail did for our company in the area of technology. She was well-prepared, reliable, very knowledgeable and great with the kids!
