About Ella
As an undergrad-student of Biomedical Science, I am constantly expanding my own knowledge and innovating my personal study methodology. I achieved a grade 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-Level, alongside A* in both Art, Psychology, and an EPQ. Since then, I have excelled at my biomedical science studies at the University of Sheffield, achieving an average grade of 80% (a Class 1). I spent the last year at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, studying Biology also as an exchange student.
While grades do hold some importance, I prefer to focus more on whether you *enjoy* learning biology. Speaking for myself, I almost did not pick Biology for A-Level but it quickly became my favourite subject - the joy of learning is so dependent on the teacher having excitement!

I offer remote or in-person tutoring for GCSE and A-Level Biology. I believe anyone can excel at biology once they truly understand the foundations! I also often find that schools do not emphasise the real-life context and story behind the topics, hence why biology at school-level can seem disjointed and confusing at times. Ultimately, biology is fascinating at its core - when approached in a meaningful way!
My approach is a focus on active learning and contextualising science. My tutoring will handle lots of exam practice to reduce the nerves around assessments and "get used" to the set up. I love to visualise biology through drawings and videos to help make the facts easier to understand. I will go through any tricky topics step-by-step, as I believe a strong fundamental understanding is the key.
Bonus fun fact: I boosted my younger sibling's GCSE grade from a 5 to an 8 in her final GCSE, incredibly proud of her!
