About Matthew
I am an experienced, enthusiastic maths and physics tutor, and I cater to all levels and abilities. I have tutored for GCSEs and A levels, the Oxford PAT test, and the STEP papers. I began tutoring privately around four years ago, whilst studying mathematics at the University of Bath. I have been tutoring consistently from then until now - into the third year of my maths PhD at the University of Southampton. I have a passion for teaching, and always look forward to my sessions; I don't remember teaching a single session which I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.

I pride myself on what I call the "tailored" nature of my tutoring. This is based on the idea that not only are all students different, but so are their motivations for seeking a tutor; the format of our sessions, the workload, and the desired outcome always vary from student to student, and this is something which we can work out and decide on together. Whether you want to cover a whole syllabus from top to bottom, or just go through some practice problems on a topic you're familiar with; whatever your goals are, we can put together a road map to get you from where you are now, to where you want to be.
