About Francesca

Hi there! My name is Chessie and I have just graduated from Cambridge University studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. Until I start a job in January 2021, I’m in London and available to tutor either online or in person (with necessary precautions).

I am an experienced, friendly and dedicated tutor, aiming to make lessons as interesting and fun as possible while achieving excellent results. I am highly motivated and was awarded a first grade in all three years at Cambridge. During my time at St Paul’s Girls’ School, I also achieved straight A*s at GCSE and 2 A*s & 1 A at A-Level. I aspire to instil this love of learning in every pupil that I see.

I have had a lot of teaching experience. In the 2018 summer, I taught 3 hours of lessons a day at Academic Summer to primary age pupils in classes of mixed ages and mixed English abilities. I also taught IB Theory of Knowledge and IB Psychology to mixed language ability teenagers. Before coming to Cambridge, I took a gap year and I spent September-December 2016 as a teaching assistant at Falkner House School in South Kensington which provided me with invaluable teaching experience. I have already had extensive tutoring experience, working on average 6 hours per week for one family since June 2015 with children in year 3 and year 5. During my time as a teaching assistant at Falkner house, I worked 10+ hours per week with various families to help their children work towards 7+ and 11+ exams. I helped one boy to get a place at Colet Court in the 8+ and worked towards the 11+ with his sister. I have worked with students at many top London day schools including Wetherby, Pembridge Hall, Latymer Prep, Garden House, Ludgrove and Falkner House. Alongside primary and GCSE tutoring, I am able to help with Oxbridge admissions and personal statement guidance.

I love working with pupils of all ages and aim to help them become as passionate as I am about learning.
