About Torres

I am an enthusiastic tutor with a bachelor’s degree, and I genuinely love helping students discover how much they are capable of. Science and mathematics fascinate me, and that excitement shapes every session. I believe learning is most effective when it feels engaging, so I bring energy, patience, and encouragement to each lesson.

My own university experience taught me what it takes to succeed: breaking difficult material into manageable steps, staying consistent, and asking questions without fear. I remember what it feels like to be confused by a new concept, which is why I never rush a student or make them feel behind. Instead, I explain ideas in clear, simple language, celebrate progress, and turn mistakes into learning opportunities.

About the lesson

Science and mathematics are my favorite subjects to teach because they reward curiosity: every formula and every biological process has a reason behind it, and finding that reason is where real understanding begins. My lessons start by finding out what you already know, where you get stuck, and what you’re working toward, whether that’s an exam, a course, or simply a deeper grasp of the material.

From there, I build each topic from first principles. In mathematics, that means showing where an equation comes from and working through examples step by step, so you can reproduce the logic instead of memorizing it. In the sciences, I connect concepts across disciplines: how the algebra behind rates of change explains drug clearance in physiology, how statistics underpins every experiment in biology, or how chemistry shapes what happens inside a cell. I use analogies, diagrams, and real-world data to make abstract ideas concrete.

You’ll practice actively through problem sets, short quizzes, and explaining ideas back in your own words, and I give honest, constructive feedback each time, including why a wrong answer feels right and how to fix it. I adjust pace and depth to your level, from high school to graduate, and to your schedule.

My aim is not just to help you pass a test but to help you think like a scientist and a mathematician: asking good questions, checking your reasoning, and solving unfamiliar problems with confidence.
