About Colin
I am a dedicated saxophone tutor with 17 years of experience teaching college students. I believe learning music should be structured, motivating, and enjoyable. My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity.
Lessons include tone building, breathing exercises, finger technique, rhythm control, and performance practice. I guide students patiently and encourage consistent practice. Improvisation is included to develop musical confidence and freedom.
I use modern teaching tools such as recording feedback, play-along tracks, and structured lesson plans. I also teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading for complete musical development.
I aim to help students become confident, expressive, and disciplined musicians.

My teaching methodology for Saxophone focuses on building confident and independent musicians. I start by teaching strong fundamentals such as breathing techniques, embouchure control, posture, finger technique, tone quality, and rhythm accuracy.
Creativity is encouraged through guided improvisation, melody practice, and sound exploration. As a mentor, I provide encouragement, motivation, and constructive feedback.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students to understand rhythm, scales, and musical structure. Accountability is maintained through clear practice routines, regular feedback, and progress tracking. Along with Saxophone lessons, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Rhythm Practice, and Performance Basics.
