About Karlaya
As a trainee primary teacher specialising in KS2, I am committed to providing supportive, high-quality tuition that parents and pupils can feel confident in. Coming into teaching at a slightly older age, I bring maturity, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility to my work.
My training has given me a solid understanding of the primary curriculum and effective, up-to-date teaching approaches. I make sure every lesson is well-prepared, organised, and tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
I pride myself on being approachable, reliable, and easy to communicate with, creating a positive environment where children feel comfortable and supported. I take a friendly and supportive approach to tutoring, making sure children feel comfortable, encouraged, and confident in their learning. As a trainee primary teacher specialising in KS2, I aim to make lessons engaging and enjoyable, using a mix of clear explanations, guided practice, and interactive activities. I always adapt my teaching to suit each child’s needs, helping them build understanding step by step.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, giving us plenty of time to revisit previous learning, introduce new ideas, and practise key skills without feeling rushed. I keep sessions structured but relaxed, so pupils stay motivated and positive throughout.
Through my teacher training, I have developed a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies. My classroom experience has helped me support a range of abilities and learning styles with patience and care.
My lessons are best suited for KS2 pupils (ages 7–11) who may need extra support in maths and English, want to build confidence, or are preparing for SATs. I’m passionate about helping every child feel proud of their progress and enjoy learning.
