About Abishawn
I'm a friendly and dedicated tutor who has recently completed A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths at a top grammar school in Kent. Throughout school, I enjoyed helping younger students through mentoring at Maths and Chemistry clinics.
I supported children at a primary school and saw how they improved their confidence and skills, so I would love to help other students achieve the same progress.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive, encouraging environment where no question is too small. Having recently completed my own studies, I understand the challenges students face and can relate to the pressure of exams. My goal is to make learning enjoyable, build confidence and help every student reach their full potential.
I was proud to serve as Pastoral House Captain and a Lance Corporal in the RAF Combined Cadet Force, roles that strengthened my leadership, communication and teamwork skills. I also completed my Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, achieved Grade 6 Carnatic Violin and volunteered with the British Heart Foundation. I had work experience at a care home and hospital, too. These experiences have helped shape who I am today and strengthened the qualities I bring to tutoring, including patience, empathy and effective communication.
As I begin university, I'm excited to take on new challenges, gain further experience and continue developing my skills as a tutor.

My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs. I will teach content when needed to and before beginning I can identify the student's strengths, areas for improvement and learning goals.
A typical lesson would last 60 minutes and I would start with a quick recap of previous topics before introducing new concepts using clear step-by-step explanations and worked examples.
I will teach KS3 (ages 11-14) and GCSE (ages 14-16) students in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.
