About Xan
I began college in 2013 and graduated in 2020 with three degrees: a Bachelor's in Mathematics, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master's in Electrical Engineering. For many years, I have tutored math, physics, and computer programming in both individual and group settings, both in real and virtual environments. I enjoy explaining things to people and connecting topics in math to real-world applications that students are interested in.

I approach each topic by getting a sense of what the student already knows and what their questions are. I try to deliver a high-level overview of the topic, a 60-second nutshell version of a lecture. Then, I try to move into specific questions that the student has, asking them questions in return to drive their understanding and bring them closer to mastery of the subject. The goal is to provide multiple examples ranging from straightforward to comprehensive.

Details
My rates do not vary according to the level of student. I would like to be compensated for time and gas associated with traveling, so the $15 fee would imply a relatively short traveling distance and time. I would reduce my rate for students who want bulk tutoring (5 or 10 hours). I am willing to answer one quick question by email for free, in between each lesson, if a student purchases 10 hours.
