About Derek
I am an environmental science major at PSU, and Algebra has always been a subject I can teach you to understand, all the way to Pre-Calc. A Maths nerd sense childhood, with a love of nature and all its design.

I prefer to adjust my tutoring based on each individual I help. Math is only as hard as the teacher is BAD. Anyone can pass college Algebra (MTH 111) and Algebra is my 2nd language. I prefer to show and aid students in discovering the language of the Universe and teach WHY Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calc are so important and applicable in the real world if you look around. Nature is Numbers. My passion and drive is to help discover and uncover the patterns and equations that move the world around us. And as an environmental science major, I have biology, geography, geology, and chemistry knowledge, along with sustainability practices. I earned my Associates degree from Clackamas Community College, graduating with honors with a 3.7 GPA. I kept it above 3.5 throughout my college career. I am finishing my final year at Portland State for Environmental Science, with hope that we can bring sustainability to the mainstream.
