It's important to evaluate the students' previous knowledge in order to gauge their level and comprehension. Once the evaluation is complete, I like to talk to the student (and parents!) about their goals, concerns, strengths, and weaknesses. Once that is complete, I custom-design my lessons to tailor to the student's needs. I like when my students are comfortable and having fun! In all my experience teaching, students who are enjoying the class tend to make the best progress!
I have been teaching ESL for more than 10 years to students of all ages and all levels. I have experience in ESL exam preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, PET, and KET.) I have attended ESL seminars (Teaching Young Learners, Teaching Business English, Time Management, Class Preparation, etc.) I have a Bachelor's Degree and CELTA (Pass B).
I have taught many students face-to-face and virtually in Asia, Europe, Russia, and South America.
While teaching, at least 4 of my students have gone to International schools, American High Schools, and passed the PET and TOEIC exams.
While working in Asia, I was responsible for curriculum development, teacher training, and classroom quality as a program coordinator.
