YOU: you've studied English for years. Your grammar is great, you know tons of useful words, and your friends are all impressed by how well you speak. But: how well would you do in a conversation with native speakers if you were attending a meeting or party in the US?

ESLIRL (ESL In Real Life) helps people learning American English answer this question by participating in a "CONVERSATION BOOTCAMP" EXPERIENCE, where they can test their ability to understand and converse with 2 native speakers of English.

After signing up for your Conversation Bootcamp you'll:
1 - receive a confirmation email;
2 - meet with 2 or 3 native speakers via Skype or Zelle; and
3 - enjoy a fast, fun, and challenging hour-long conversation with:
-an expert ESL teacher/linguist and
-one or two additional native speakers who might be--a taxi driver, a professional gardener, a college student, a nurse, a make-up artist, a cook, or an engineer, etc.; then,
4 - a couple of days later, receive a written report of your main strengths and weaknesses (in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and conversation skills), along with examples of each;
5 - clients who want to do so can then meet with the ESL instructor again to watch the videotape, discuss confusing points, and practice questions or comments client could have said.
