About Ryan
I have a Bachelors degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. I tutored ESL students in my University, and I have taught in China for about 2 years. I thoroughly enjoy working with ESL children as well as adults. I commonly taught in classrooms with class sizes of about 16 students, as well as 1 on 1.

For ESL students, my teaching method is to be as goody as possible to make the class interesting for the students. I find with ESL children the largest barrier is making sure they stay interested and engaged. By centering the classroom around having fun, while making sure the fun is achieved through learning, i find my students to be engaged and learn as much as possible.

If the student is older and of a more demanding curriculum, I may adjust the rates to be a few dollars higher depending on the preparation time for the lesson, especially if it is a specialized curriculum. I am always willing to negotiate, please speak to me if you would like to make a compromise on travel fees, or other types of obstacles. I am willing to accommodate.
