About Kayla

I have been an ESL teacher for 4 years, having students of all ages from all around the world. I am a lifelong learner/student, teacher, mother of 2, Orthodox Christian, and entrepreneur. I am a fun and caring individual with a love for teaching. I love traveling, cooking/baking, horror movies, reading, writing, and cats! My company Women In STEM is an online school for girls and women, where students learn dissection, life sciences, physics, robotics, artificial intelligence, etc. I am also in the process of opening an online university that will offer majors in neuroscience, neurology, and neurosurgery.

About the lesson

I keep a record of each student's progress and what they need to work on in order to create individual lesson plans, as I understand that no two students have the same learning style. No two students will have the same curriculum! Notes are effective most times. However, I prefer to keep my lessons interesting by mixing notes with videos, games, discussions, props, etc. This method is effective in helping students remember what they have learned. I mean, who wouldn't remember a fun game they've played?! What sets me apart as a teacher is my drive for education. Being the founder of an online STEM school and in the process of opening an online university for medicine, it is clear that I have a passion for teaching as well as for learning. My ESL lessons are for everyone! I teach all ages, but 50% of my students are children and the other 50% are students looking to attend university in the USA.
