About Isabel
I am originally from New York City and recently graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Neuroscience and double minors in Politics and Environmental Studies. My hobbies are cooking, photography, and sports.
I've taught ESL classes to kids, teens, and adults in Arizona and Ohio. I also taught two semesters of an accredited undergraduate-level Environmental course, for which I created my own syllabus. I also have experience as a History and Spanish tutor and as a camp counselor.
I am passionate about the intersections of the science and the social and how people work. I'm passionate particularly about language because is a connector for community and also a tool for access to the world and resources.

My tutoring is with personalized lessons-- I focus on USEFUL and FUN vocabulary and what YOU'RE interested in! I am also detail-oriented by nature and so I will pay attention to your interests, strengths (what you already are great at!), and your particular gaps in knowledge.
I am a friendly, conversational, honest, and flexible tutor. I believe language learning is the best when we chat and have fun. I have ESL experience teaching native Spanish speakers but open to any students.
