About James
I have been tutoring students in ESL for over 20 years, and have enjoyed helping them improve their vocabulary, understanding of grammar, pronunciation, and fluency. I am comfortable working with adults from all language backgrounds at all levels of mastery. I have experience in teaching business English and in helping students prepare to take standardized tests, such as the TOEFL.

I tutor adults in ESL, using a conversational approach to help them to understand new words, expressions, grammatical concepts, or pronunciation points. I often try to help the student understand through illustrative examples. I try to develop a rapport with the student, and I think that they typically view me as a knowledgeable peer trying to help them improve their language ability.
