About Maria Fernanda
As a tutor, my primary goal is the success of my students. Although I do not hold formal certifications, my experience supporting my mother, an experienced educator and speech therapist, has provided me with a solid foundation for understanding the individual needs of each child. My Approach as a Tutor: My teaching method is built on the belief that learning should be an enjoyable and stimulating experience. Inspired by my mother's work as an early childhood educator and speech therapist (whom I have had the pleasure of actively supporting for the past two years), I have developed a student-centered approach, adapting to the individual needs and learning styles of each child. Teaching Methods and Techniques: Play-based learning: I utilize games, songs, stories, and interactive activities to keep children motivated and engaged. Communicative approach: I prioritize spoken practice and conversation from the very beginning, fostering confidence and fluency in speaking. Personalization: I adapt the content and activities to each student's interests, abilities, and goals. A Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson plan with me might look like this: Greeting and review: We begin with a friendly greeting and a brief review of the material learned in the previous lesson. Introduction of the new topic: I introduce the new topic in a clear and concise manner, using examples and visual aids. Game or playful activity: We conclude the lesson with a fun game or activity related to the topic, reinforcing learning in a relaxed way. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor? First-hand experience: I have grown up surrounded by pedagogy thanks to my mother, which has given me a unique perspective on how to help children learn. Passion for learning: I love learning and sharing my knowledge with others. Patience and empathy: I understand that each child learns at their own pace, and I am willing to provide the support and attention they need.
